How I connect regions
Bogotá and the Andes combine city history and mountains. I can add Guatapé, Jardín or Jericó to Medellín and Antioquia. In coffee country, I include production, landscapes and smaller towns.
Cartagena, Santa Marta and other coastal stops offer different Caribbean stays. I plan the Amazon, Pacific and La Guajira as separate stages with their own transport.

Two weeks with three regions
For your first two-week trip, I usually recommend three regions. Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena leave time for city visits, an excursion and quieter days. Four regions mean more transfers and a faster pace.
Three weeks with longer stays
With three weeks, I can add coffee country and the coast near Santa Marta. You can choose four or five regions, or travel a shorter route more slowly. I leave time for nature, free afternoons and breaks between transfers.

Clothing for your route
Andean cities, warm coasts and humid forests need different clothing. For a mixed route, I suggest light layers and rain protection. Access, season and activities guide my choice of nature regions and your equipment.
How I calculate travel days
I count hotel departure, check-in, baggage and transfers to the next accommodation. Even a short domestic flight can occupy much of your day. For long Andean drives, I leave time without additional visits.
I reduce backtracking and reserve time before your international return.

Accommodation, food and free days
I compare city hotels, fincas and coastal lodges by location, access and meals. For couples, I can leave a free evening at the finca. Markets, regional food and conversations complement city and nature visits.
Local guides can join selected days; others remain free for your own discoveries.
